Postcards from Great Yarmouth

One of the best aspects of being an independent business where we all have a hands-on role in the design and production of our mapping and communications work is having the chance to inject fresh thinking into what are often seen as fairly mundane products.
Most recently, we have been working for Norfolk County Council in refreshing all of the passenger information at Great Yarmouth's Market Gates bus station. After applying our new styling to the bus stop flags, departure times and destination finder poster products, we were left with a poster that sought to highlight popular nearby destinations that could be reached by bus. A good idea that complements the 'must have' information well, though previously delivered in this rather lacklustre and underwhelming manner.

So, for the start of the 2018 summer season's bus services in and around the town, we've come up with this design, which is giving the same information and highlighting the same day out opportunities, but with the appearance of a seaside postcard rack. We have also separated out the tourist hot spots from other year-round essential destinations such as the town's hospitals, rail station and local shopping districts.

We hope that this attractive, engaging design will better communicate the day out opportunities on Great Yarmouth's bus network, and it's been great fun to create. Oh, and it must be summer, because one of the office cactii has flowered!
