Bus Open Data Compliant file creation

Having over 15 years' experience of processing and creating TransXChange data for smaller bus operators, GRM has developed its own tool to allow operators or local authorities to create, import, edit and export Bus Open Data-compliant files for internal and external use. We can also very quickly convert any batch of TransXChange files to be compliant with the Department for Transport's Bus Open Data requirements on operators.

The system allows easy construction of route patterns and timetables, as well as consistent and accurate centre line data for automatic vehicle location purposes. GRM's efforts in creating the system have been recognised by the DfT, and we are an accredited Bus Open Data supplier of files for a growing list of bus operators.

The system can be used self-service by operators or local authorities, or in the case of many small operators, we can manage the entire process in house, allowing the operators to focus on day to day management of their business while complying with recent legislation. Our system is used to upload datasets direct to the Bus Open Data portal with 100% compliance, as well as other downstream systems such as Traveline, Trapeze, Ticketer and for use in our own journey planning websites and poster systems.
